Overcoming Quarter Life Crisis
You may have already known for a fac that quite a huge number of young people in their mid to late 20s are struggling with a quarter life crisis. Maybe you’ve graduated from a prestigious university and you may even have an undergraduate degree but you’re currently panicked with regards to your career options. Or maybe you’ve coasted along while you were in your early 20s but then you’re not feeling the pressure as you get older and even closer to 30. You will be able to overcome your quarter life crisis is you are able to figure out the root cause of it as well as determine the life goals you may have. You will then be able to know what you should do to address your crisis so that you’ll be able to overcome it.
First thing you need to do is to admit that you’re not happy with certain choices you’ve made in the past. Keep in mind that the first phase of a quarter life crisis is to feel how trapped you are with your life choices. It could be that you’re feeling locked into your career path, your relationship, and even your job. You could be feeling right now as if everything’s in autopilot more than being in control and living life to the fullest. If you just acknowledge that you are actually feeling really trapped with your life right now, it could be the starting point you need to overcome the crisis.
You might also like to consider taking a timeout. After acknowledging your situation in life, you may feel the need to take some time to free yourself from everything. It could be that you’re thinking about getting out of the situation you’re currently in such as moving to a new school or by getting a new kind of job. It would be best that you use this time to take a timeout so that you’ll be able to reconsider your life goals as well as your plans before committing to any big decisions in life.
Accept that you can possibly change. This is the third phase where you will begin to think about the possibility of you changing the course of your life.
Creating new goals and commitments. Once you’re done with all three phases of your quarter life crisis, you’ll be able to start making new goals and commitments. It is during this time that you should keep your focus on personal development as this is a huge help for you to overcome crisis.
You should try to look for new ways how you can enjoy life. Although making new goals and going through changes will help overcome crisis, you should also try to find ways wherein you can enjoy the current life you have.
